Notes: This species has limited geographical distribution being first described from trees found in Oglethorpe County, Georgia. It is a poor acorn producer and is subject to severe fire damage. The trees are somewhat pyramidal when young rounding out with age. Of little commercial value, this oak is an attractive small tree that could prosper in dry uplands as a specimen tree in open spaces.

Bark:Light gray, shallow furrows with scaly ridges similar to others in the White oak group.
