Notes: The Deodar Cedar is an excellent landscape evergreen with its pendulous habit. There are many fine specimens growing lustily in the Athens - Clarke County area. This champion is a state co-champion as well and is truly a magnificent specimen for the area., The Deodar Cedar is a non-native species and is often called the Himalayan cedar from the area of its natural occurrence (Afghanistan and Western Nepal). Introduced in 1831.

Bark: Gray brown to brown with a pebble like texture on old trees.
